Big Teddy Bears: Three Reasons People Love Them

Did you have any big teddy bears when you were a kid? Or do you perhaps recall anybody that did when you were growing up? Such big teddy bears were really staples to many kids’ lives, and even today there are adults that still have the same big teddy bears that they did when they were kids. And in some cases they will even pass them on to their own children. The popularity of these large and fuzzy stuffed animals is one that is rich with American history, as they are actually called Teddy bears after a sitting US president, Theodore ‘Teddy’ Roosevelt. So now that you know why they are called as such, let us take a really quick look at why so many people, from all walks of life, and from all over the world, love these gigantic stuffed animals.

They make great get-well gifts. Perhaps one of the most popular usages of big teddy bears is for get well gifts. There is just something about the furry and comical, animated persona of these things that can really bring a bright smile to somebody who is not feeling well. No matter if they are in the hospital and recovering, or they are in bed with the flu for a few days: these bears are tried and true staples to turning frowns upside down and really helping spread that happy smile across peoples’ faces. Have you ever gotten any big teddy bears? If so, do you recall how giddy that it made you feel when you did get one? If not, think about getting something great, and being happy: that is the feeling most people get when they are gifted big teddy bears.

Kids adore big teddy bears and always will. Try and find a child that does not want to wrap their arms around these cuddly, bedside friends. Many will even name their big teddy bears that they have, and they can make for some great company for backyard tea parties as well. In so many words, perhaps over the course of the past hundreds years, it is easy to assume that these big teddy bears have and always will be popular amongst the kids, and that is because they are large, furry, cuddly and they bring happy thoughts and joy to children.

Last but not least, big teddy bears are awesome state fair prizes. Have you ever been to carnival for a fair and you were looking at all of the cool attractions and rides that they had. Perhaps you were there with your significant other and really wanted to shock them by winning that enormous teddy bear that was the grand prize at the shootout vendor booth. It is safe to assume that such spectacles have really made these stuffed animals some timeless and priceless things that are an intricate part of the culture and tradition that comprises what being an American is all about.
